asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally

The Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia was alive with the sound of highly tuned racing machines on the last weekend of May. The 2009 asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally drew competitors from all over Australia to compete. The event has gained popularity over the last 3 years, and doubled from ten stages in 2008 to a two day, twenty stage event for 2009 with 123km of competitive driving and a total distance of 540km.

Organisers of the asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally have this year included a new class for Alternative Fuel Vehicles. The bio-diesel powered Fiat Grande Punto Sport Abarth of Team Punto will compete in this class in 2009, but is looking for a good outright result in this weekend’s 58 car field.

South Australian Co-Driver Naomi Tillett, who won Targa Tasmania and Rally Tasmania this year with Tony Quinn in their VIP Petfoods Nissan GTR, returns again to compete in the 2009 asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally on the weekend of May 30 & 31st.
