Gremlin’s Gone, Hall Ready To Rally!

Fusion Motorsport in action at the 2009 asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally

After a 2009 season that they would rather forget, the Fusion Motorsport team is back in 2010 with a hunger to prove that they have what it takes to be real contenders for this years South Australian Rally Championship (SARC).

With mechanical issues impairing all six of their contested events last year, 23 year old Mitchell Hall seems somewhat relaxed as his first round of the 2010 season - the ASP/Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally - approaches, and with good reason.

“Last year was definitely a downer for our team” says Hall. “We had drama after drama with the Subaru and as a result we made the decision late in 2009 to send the gearbox over to Possum Bourne Motorsport in New Zealand to get our gremlins sorted once and for all”. With an amazing reputation for preparing APRC and ARC winning rally cars PBMS seemed the logical choice for the Adelaide based team to approach in order to ensure that in 2010 they are back in business.

“The work and support from PBMS was fantastic. It was obvious from our first phonecall that these guys run a very tight, professional workshop and dealing with them was an absolute pleasure” said a relieved Hall. “To know that these guys have repaired our gearbox I can now focus on getting back out on the gravel and what a positive experience it will be, rather than the experience of last year where each event I went out with crossed fingers”.

Sitting beside Hall will once again be his Gold Coast based kiwi co driver Janah Mclean who returns to Fusion Motorsport for her third consecutive season. “I'm thrilled to be back with the team for another SARC season with Mitchell. We competed in the AHTR last year and were putting down some fantastic times until our mechanical misfortune on the third to last stage” said an eager Mclean. “It was heartbreaking what happened last year knowing how much blood, sweat and tears the entire Hall family had put into our car and I really hope that this season we can reward them with the great results I know we are capable of”.

With both driver and co driver well and truly ready to rally the event is sure to be one of the highlights of their year. “We loved this event last year and were devastated with how we finished. This time we just want to get out there and finish this event with smiles on our faces” concluded Hall.

The ASP/Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally will run from 21-23 May with Rally HQ and the event Service Park located at the stunning grounds of Penny’s Hill Winery.
