Scouts Rally SA and Make-A-Wish Combine To Make A Difference

Make-A-Wish Foundation Australia

The organisers of the 2011 Scouts Rally SA are pleased to announce that the Rally is joining forces with children's charity Make-A-Wish® Australia once more.

Make-A-Wish Australia is the only children's charity in the country to focus solely on Wish granting for children with life threatening medical conditions and the Rally will provide opportunities to rally together and raise critical funds and awareness

Event Director Ivar Stanelis said, " I feel that having such a quality organisation involved with us is a big win for us and for the local community. Motor sport enthusiasts will embrace Make-A-Wish Australia, and it is an excellent way to give something back to the communities that support our sport."

The President of the Make-A-Wish Australia Barossa Volunteer Branch, Cath Cox, said the branch was thrilled to be associated with such high-profile event.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to reach a new audience, and we hope to win over a legion of South Australian motor racing fans when the Scouts Rally SA comes to the Barossa in July," she said.

Dan Ryan, Scouts SA CEO, also welcomed the partnership.

"Scouts is all about providing opportunity for young people and helping them be the best they can be. We are delighted to be part of an event that is supporting Make-A-Wish Australia ," he said.

Make-A-Wish volunteers will be out in force at the media day on Thursday, July 28th, both days of the special stages at WOODHOUSE on July 30 and 31, and at the forties spectator park on those days.

Make-A-Wish Australia has granted the cherished Wishes of over 6,500 courageous children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy since 1985.

Make-A-Wish Australia receives no ongoing government support and the last 25 years wouldn't have been possible without the support and generosity of our donors and the dedication of our wonderful volunteers.
