After a 2009 season that they would rather forget, the Fusion Motorsport team is back in 2010 with a hunger to prove that they have what it takes to be real contenders for this years South Australian Rally Championship (SARC).

With mechanical issues impairing all six of their contested events last year, 23 year old Mitchell Hall seems somewhat relaxed as his first round of the 2010 season - the ASP/Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally - approaches, and with good reason.

The South Australian Rally Panel has secured a sponsorship deal with the long established motorsport equipment retailer, Autosport, which sees Autosport granted naming rights for the 2010 South Australian Rally Championship.

“This is very exciting news for the SA rally community”, said SARP Chairman, Matt Selley.

The rally organising committee is extremely proud and excited to announce that Winter Wonderland Productions will be the 2010 asp/CutPrice Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally official media partner. This is the first time in the event's history the organising committee has employed an external media supplier to cover the event.

This follows from Winter Wonderland’s successful coverage of last year's Classic Adelaide, with the company being one of many suppliers left in the lurch after the event’s collapse.

The Forklift Power Solutions all-female team of Samantha Stevens and Claire Ryan has claimed the Early Modern title in the Australian Tarmac Championship with an impressive result in the final round at Targa Tasmania last week.

One of the toughest road challenges in the world, the Targa Tasmania tarmac rally, covers 2000km of twisting tarmac with over a quarter of that distance as competitive kilometres. Of the 260 cars that started the six-day rally, many fell victim to mechanical and human error, and 56 cars did not make the official finish in that Tasmanian capital of Hobart.
