A Motorsport First: Scouts and Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA are Green to Grow

Simon and Sue Evans clinched the Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA Today with Second in Heat two

Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA have joined with Scouts SA to take action to reduce the carbon footprint of the Rally over the 3 days Jul 31 - Aug 2.

In what is believed to be a motor sport first, Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA is working with Scouts SA to plant thousands of trees as part of the Scouts and Greenfleet's Murray Darling Rescue, which has so far planted 1,000,000 trees in the Murray Darling Basin. These trees, through a carbon agreement, will significantly reduce the carbon footprint of this fantastic motorsport event for several years. This planting is further to the action already taken by Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA with Scouts and Greenfleet.

ARC Eco Rally Championship Poll Results

Toyota Yaris

Our Eco Rally Championship poll has been run and won, with majority of you choosing a Toyota Yaris 1.5L as your entry into the Eco Rally Championship. Most surprisingly, however, is that 46% of voters, more than double the votes that the Yaris received, weren't interested in an Eco Rally Championship at all. Will we see any entries for this championship in 2009? Only time will tell, but we're hopeful that manufacturers might show more interest.

ARC 2WD Championship Poll Results

in

After two long weeks, and much interest, our 2WD Championship poll has concluded. And the winner is... Nissan 200SX! It seems most of our voters would like to see some sideways rear wheel drive action in next years ARC.

The 200SX was followed, deservingly, by the Honda Civic Type R, which in the hands of Guy Wilks set some sensational stage times in the recent ARC season finale in Coffs Harbour.
