Simon and Yvette West

Team History:
Simon and Yvette started their ralling career in April 2008. They were named '2008 Rally of South Australia Rookies of the Year' and finished the season 2nd in Group N class. 2009 was a year of mechanical problems that saw Simon and Yvette only finish 2 of the 4 SARC rounds. A highlight of this year was to finish 2nd in the "SA Clubman series".
Team Sponsors:
Area 51 Corporate Drive (Talk to us about organising an action packed corporate day!), Fullglass Management, Racecam, SKR (Steve Knight Racetech), Lightly Salted photography, SA Motorsport Tyres, Ralliart

Simon has always been a keen follower of gravel rallying and in his younger days would often be seen standing in the forests wishing that one day he too could live his dream of driving a rally car.

In 2008, Simon convinced his wife they should team up and campaign a Mitsubishi Evo 5. They purchased an ex ARC prepared Michael Thompson car. It was then purchased by Les Walkden and Michael Guest had a brief stint in it.

Simon and Yvette are supported by their trusty crew of Des and Denise Collins (not bad, since Simon used to watch Denise tearing up the forest back in the 80's!).

The South Australian Rally Championship winds up on Sunday October 4th, with the “2009 Wirrabara Forrest Rally”. Wirrabara is an easy three hour drive from Adelaide and is the gateway to one of the Southern Flinders best keeps secrets. The Wirrabara Forest Rally has not run for 6 years, and the organising committee is excited to revive the once favourite event. The event will be run almost unchanged from its 2001 appearance on the SA Championship calendar. 22 crews will be fighting for 50% bonus points for the final round of the season, making the results difficult to predict.
